Bellamy ruled out for Wales
05/10/2005
Craig Bellamy will not feature for Wales this weekend after being ruled out with a knee injury.
The fiery Blackburn forward picked up the knock during last weekend's win over West Bromwich Albion but was fighting to be fit for his country's World Cup clash with Northern Ireland.
However, Welsh medical chiefs have confirmed that Bellamy will not be available to manager John Toshack for the Belfast meeting or for the following match against Azerbaijan.
Bristol City striker David Cotterill has been called up from the under-21 squad to replace Bellamy but the 17-year-old is unlikely to start.
Bellamy's club have said they expect the striker to back playing for them before the end of the month and are eyeing the match with Birmingham on October 22nd as a likely comeback match.
Meanwhile, Toshack has been boosted by the news that Mark Delaney and Simon Davies have now both arrived at Wales' training camp after recuperating from injuries.
Aston Villa's Delaney played for the reserves against Bolton on Monday, his third run-out since returning from a knee injury, while Everton's Davies has recovered from an ankle injury.
Toshack has hinted that both will start if they can prove their fitness between now and Saturday.
