Bjorn hospitalised
27/09/2005
Thomas Bjorn has been admitted to a London hospital reportedly suffering from a viral infection.
The Danish golfer will be kept under observation for 48 hours, and will miss the Dunhill Links championship as a result.
Bjorn missed the closing ceremony of the Seve Trophy complaining of a sore throat and earache, after losing his singles match to David Howells.
The 34-year-old was hospitalized on his return to London.
Bjorn is seventh in the European Order of Merit, and his non-participation in the Dunhill Links championship has probably ended his chances of finishing first. Michael Campbell and Retief Goosen are currently leading the competition.
The Ryder Cup hero hopes to be back in action for the American Express World Golf Championship next week.
