Bolton star predicts European glory

03/11/2005

Bolton centre-back Radhi Jaidi is confident his side can go all the way in the Uefa Cup this season.

Sam Allardyce's team have impressed in their European debut appearance so far and currently sit in second place in group H following a 1-1 draw at Besiktas on matchday one.

FC Zenit St Petersburg travel to the Reebok tonight and Jaidi claims his team have all the credentials to win tonight and then go on to progress through the group stage and make it to the final in Eindhoven next May.

"We're taking it result by result, but I think we can go all the way and win the competition," the Tunisian defender said.

"With the manager's help, advice and encouragement every player will give his utmost to go as far as we can, and I think he could lead us all the way to the trophy."

He added: "We had a good first result against Lokomotiv Plovdiv, who were an unknown quantity and very difficult, and we took that form into the game at Besiktas. We have started well and things look good for us."

Jaidi has established himself as a firm favourite at Bolton since completing his move from Esperance last year due to his dominating performances.

He has also scored six goals in 27 league starts and will be keen to add to this tally tonight.
