Bulls sign Watene
26/10/2005
Super League champions Bradford Bulls have announced that Adam Watene has joined the side until the end of the 2006 season.
The Bulls say they hope to make the signing more permanent after the prop turned down the chance to play for rivals Castleford where he spent last season on loan.
Watene helped steer Castleford into the top flight after winning the National League Grand Final and expressed his excitement at the new move.
"It is a great opportunity for me at this stage of my career to play at a big club and I am looking forward to making a big impression," he said.
"It's a dream move to me to get a start with the champions. Once I knew they were interested I took the opportunity with both hands."
Coach Brian Noble said he had been "very impressed" with the forward, adding he would bolster the side ahead of next season.
Yesterday the Bulls said farewell to inspirational player Robbie Paul, who spent more than 11 years at the club since his arrival from New Zealand.
