Button eyeing Suzuka success
02/10/2005
Bar's Jenson Button is confident of putting in a strong performance in next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix.
Suzuka is Bar-Honda's home track and Button is hopeful he can put in a good showing in Japan next weekend, where his team will be well supported, building on their recent good form.
"Suzuka is special because it's Honda's home circuit," said the 25-year-old, who recently committed his long-term future to Bar.
"I've had good support there in the past, especially since I've been involved with Honda and the Bar Honda team. I'm excited about going back, and I think if we sort out the issues we had in Brazil, we'll be reasonably quick."
Button has picked up points in each of his last eight races, yet is aware that a stern test awaits him in Japan.
"Suzuka is a very tough circuit, mentally and physically. You have to be very precise around there, and also very consistent, which is difficult. It is definitely one of my favourite circuits," added Button
Bar will introduce a new V10 engine, which Takuma Sato used during the Brazilian grand prix, at Suzuka.
