Dyer suffers another injury setback
03/11/2005
Newcastle star Keiron Dyer has had his return from injury put back again after suffering yet another blow in training.
The 26-year-old midfielder has made just three appearances for the Magpies this season after damaging a hamstring.
He had been nearing full fitness however and featured briefly in Sunday's win at West Brom.
But Newcastle's medical team informed Toon boss Graeme Souness that the England international has broken down again.
"Kieron has a medical problem which has contributed to his lack of fitness," a statement on the club's official website said.
"Unfortunately, he has suffered another reaction following his appearance last weekend and will require further specialist attention to help him regain his full fitness."
Dyer has been plagued by injuries throughout his time at St James' Park since moving from Ipswich for £6.5 million in 1999 and has made just 160 league appearances in his six-year spell.
