Great Britain Tri Nations squad unveiled
17/10/2005
The Great Britain squad for the rugby league Tri-Nations series has been announced, but there is no room for Super League top try scorer Mark Calderwood.
The Leeds flier joins teammates Danny Ward and Ryan Bailey on the sidelines, while a number of surprise absentees from last year's 24 are back in.
Both Paul Deacon and Kevin Sinifield make the cut, as coach Brian Noble looks to make a winning start at Loftus Road later this month when the team face New Zealand.
In total, five uncapped payers are in the squad, including St Helens forwards Nick Fozzard and Jon Wilkin, Hull's Jamie Thackray and Gareth Raynor and Leeds scrum-half Rob Burrow.
Bradford boast five players in the squad, while Saints players claim seven of the spots, as Paul Wellens, Keiron Cunningham, Mickey Higham and Lee Gilmour complement Fozzard and Wilkin alongside new recruit Leon Pryce.
However, injured Saints duo Paul Sculthorpe and Sean Long have been ruled out of the series.
