Salford unveil Widnes trio
05/10/2005
Super League side Salford have given their trusting fans a major boost today by officially unveiling three new signings for the 2006 season.
The City Reds have raided relegated neighbours Widnes to snap up Aaron Moule, Stephen Myler and Simon Finnigan.
The capture of the three stars is seen as a major coup for Salford, who finished only two places above Widnes in the final league table.
Salford football director Steve Simms moved quickly to sign the talented trio and was clearly delighted to have completed the deals.
"There's a lot of experience there but they are all still quite young," Simms told the club's official website.
"They have played a lot in Super League and they fit into our plans."
Simms added that he was particularly pleased to have brought in stand-off Myler to the Willows on a one-year contract, after the Vikings' favourite had looked to set to switch codes to union.
"Stephen Myler had a few offers but he feels he has something to offer rugby league still," he said.
"He wants a new start with a progressive club and he feels we can offer him that."
Salford coach Karl Harrison also welcomed news of the three signings and added that he is excited by the potential of all three of them, as well as the club's fourth new recruit Jon Wilshere.
