Williams owner defiant
20/10/2005
The co-owner of Williams has warned pundits not to write off his beleaguered team.
Patrick Head told Autosport magazine: "We're a company that has survived on action rather than talk and we must deliver next year.
"Anybody who thinks we are a spent force would be making a rash judgement."
Williams have not won the constructors' title since 1997, and they failed to win a single race this year.
To add to their woes, BMW have quit as Williams' engine partner, in order to race with Sauber under their own name.
Head acknowledges that his team is in difficulties, and insists that things have to change.
"It's too long since we won a title and that's something we have to correct if we want to be taken seriously as a competitive force."
It is thought that the German driver Nico Rosberg will team up with Australian Mark Webber for Williams next year after the row over Jenson Button's contract ended in the Brit staying with BAR.
