Wolves snare Bulls star Parker
20/10/2005
Warrington Wolves have completed the signing of burly forward Rob Parker from the Bradford Bulls.
The 24-year-old has agreed terms on two-year deal and turned down offers from both Leeds Rhinos and London Broncos to move to the Halliwell Jones stadium.
Parker was ever present last Super League term and his consistency and leadership skills earned him the captain's armband for England in the European Nations Series, something that made Wolves coach Paul Cullen eager to secure his signature.
"We are delighted to have captured a young player with the experience and potential that Rob Parker has to offer," Cullen said.
"He is a player that we have admired for a considerable period because of his technical and tactical ability. Our squad is stronger and deeper with his inclusion."
The player himself said he was looking forward to the challenge of proving himself at his new club and admitted he was attracted by the ambitious plans the club harbours.
"I see Warrington as a team going places; it has a lot of potential with the stadium and its fan base," he said.
"Also Warrington have some great coaches, one that I have played alongside Mike Forshaw and the set up is very business like. I am looking forward to being part of the future here."
