Casey to partner Woods at Masters
04/04/2007
Englishman Paul Casey has been drawn to play alongside world number one Tiger Woods and Australian Aaron Baddeley at the US Masters.
The trio will tee off together in the opening two rounds at the first major of the 2007 season and will take to the first hole at 18:52 BST on Thursday.
The group will be the third-last to get their rounds underway, and will follow two of Europe's Ryder Cup heroes Padraig Harrington and Luke Donald, who have been drawn in a group alongside American Jerry Kelly.
Winning Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam, who earns an automatic invitation as a former Masters champion, plays alongside 2006 team member Robert Karlsson of Sweden.
England's Ian Poulter will be in the first group alongside 40-year-old Billy Mayfair, with the American veteran scheduled to take the opening drive of the tournament.
Some other interesting pairings include Americans Tom Watson and Fred Funk in group nine; Mark O'Meara and Stuart Appleby in group ten; and Bernard Langer and Colin Montgomerie following them in group 11.
Justin Rose, who was one of the last players to earn a place in the Masters this year courtesy of his position in the yearly money list, is grouped with two other well-known names, Jose Maria Olazabal and Charles Howell III.
Two-time runner-up Ernie Els joins veteran Fred Couples and Geoff Ogilvy and Welsh debutant Bradley Dredge has the honour of joining Scottish veteran Sandy Lyle in the first two rounds at Augusta.
