Clarke and McGinley invited to USPGA
25/07/2007
Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley have been handed late invitations for next month's USPGA Championship.
The Ryder Cup duo, who are both outside the world's top 100, will take part at this years tournament at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The event, which runs from August 9th to 12th, is now set to feature each member of both the European and American Ryder Cup teams.
Clarke said: "This is great news. I am delighted the USPGA has invited Paul and myself.
"This means last year's Ryder Cup team, as well as the American side, will be reunited. I'm delighted."
McGinley added: "What a delightful shock. The invitation could not have come at a better time because I feel my game is turning round again.
"It's a great confidence-booster."
At The Open Championship last weekend McGinley finished 19th but Clarke failed to make the cut.
