Golf legend Seve remains in hospital after collapsing
10/10/2008
Seve Ballesteros remains in hospital after suffering an epileptic fit in Madrid.
The golf legend was taken to the intensive care unit at La Paz hospital after losing consciousness on Monday.
Ballesteros, 51, has now left intensive care unit but is still undergoing tests.
In a statement, the five-time major winner assured fans he is feeling better.
"I am awaiting the results of the tests that I have been going through," the Spaniard said.
"I wish to personally thank all of those who are concerned about my health condition.
"I want you to know they make me feel very good and I feel greatly supported by all of you."
A statement confirming a serious illness is expected at the weekend, according to local reports.
Ballesteros, who suffered with an arthritic back and knee problems late in his career, retired from the sport last year.
