Jacquelin on top in Delhi
09/02/2008
Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin is leading the Indian Masters by one stroke heading into the final round on six-under-par.
Jacquelin heads Spaniard Manuel Jose Lara, Irishman Damien McGrane and Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland who are all tied for second place on five under.
South African Ernie Els is also back in contention on two-under-par after his third round of 69 left him four shots off the pace.
Jacquelin has been towards the top of the scoreboard all week and his level-par round on day three left him in the lead. Despite this he remained slightly disappointed with how his round went.
Having picked up a birdie on the front nine the 33-year-old dropped shots at the tenth and 11th holes. He redeemed himself with an eagle at the 14th but a bogey on the 17th green reduced his lead further.
Jacquelin said: "It's always good to be at the top of the leaderboard but I'm just a bit disappointed with my putting.
"I hardly made any putts apart from the eagle. This course is so difficult to play, it's very tricky."
Overnight leader McGrane suffered a bad day, carding a round of 73 which included five bogeys and two birdies, but he remains in contention.
Els is bearing down on the leaders having recovered from a disastrous first round. Although the South African carded three bogeys in his third round he also landed six birdies to move into a tie for tenth place.
