Major champions paired for PGA
07/08/2007
The Open Championship winner Padraig Harrington has been paired with the US Open champion Angel Cabrera for the opening two rounds at this year's fourth major, the PGA Championship.
And they will be joined by Zach Johnson, who won the third major this year at the Masters, when they tee off at 13:10 local time (19:10 BST).
The Tulsa competition begins on Thursday and sees the world's best golfers all vying to add their name to an illustrious list of major champions.
Harrington triumphed at Carnoustie last month in a thrilling Open Championship play-off against Sergio Garcia.
Cabrera became the first Argentinean to win a major in more than 40 years when he held off the challenge of top-ranked players Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk to snatch the US Open trophy at Oakmont Country Club.
Garcia will hope to put the disappointment of The Open behind him when he tees off with veteran Tom Lehman and Geoff Ogilvy.
Perennial pre-tournament favourite Woods will begin his quest for that elusive 13th major title alongside countrymen Bob Tway and Rich Beem.
And another all-star trio sees South Africa's Ernie Els, Scotland's Colin Montgomerie and American Stewart Cink sharing time on the course.
England's Luke Donald joins Furyk on the course in one of the first groups to tee off at 08:30 local time (14:30 BST), alongside Jonathan Byrd; and Ian Poulter joins Chris DiMarco and Tim Clark at 13:40 (19:40 BST).
European Ryder Cup hero Darren Clarke joins Retief Goosen and Boo Weekley in a multinational group starting at 08:05 local time (14:05 BST) from the tenth tee.
