O'Hair seals PODS win as Rose boosts Ryder Cup bid
10/03/2008
Sean O'Hair has won the PODS Championship in Florida by two shots after overhauling the third-round leader Stewart Cink.
The 25-year-old carded four birdies and two bogeys in his final round of 69 to finish on four under par for the tournament.
Cink, who held a three-shot lead after Saturday's round at the Innisbrook golf club in Tampa Bay, imploded with four bogies and a double bogey six on the 16th hole to slide back into a six-way tie for second on two under par.
Australia's John Senden, Japan's Ryuji Imada and Americans George McNeill, Troy Matteson and Billy Mayfair all joined Cink in second, while Rod Pampling and Brandt Snedeker finished on one under par for the tournament.
Englishman Justin Rose finished in a tie for 14th overall, which boosted his Ryder Cup hopes.
Rose moved back up into second in the running for the European team with a one-under-par final round to finish on one over for the tournament.
