Ogilvy ends Woods' winning streak with win in Miami
25/03/2008
Australia's Geoff Ogilvy has won the WGC-CA Championship in Miami to end Tiger Woods' seven-tournament winning streak.
The American had to settle for fifth place, two shots off Ogilvy, who maintained his advantage from the third round with a solid final-day effort - finishing on one under par for the day.
Play was disrupted by inclement weather to such an extent that the tournament was forced into a fifth day, but 2006 Open champion Ogilvy held his nerve to finish an impressive 17 under par overall.
Steve Stricker carded an impressive nine-under-par final round of 63 to make a run at the top of the leaderboard, despite starting his fourth set of 18 holes in a tie for 31st.
But he ultimately fell four shots short to tie for sixth on 13 under par.
Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh tied for second, one shot behind the winner, with Woods a further shot back.
Australia's Nick O'Hearn and England's Graeme Storm finished level with Stricker in sixth, while Masters champion Zach Johnson and Australian Adam Scott rounded out the top ten.
