Scott opens up three shot Bryan Nelson lead
27/04/2008
Adam Scott will go into the final round of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship with a three-shot advantage after a solid third-round performance.
The Australian went into the session in the lead and got off to a poor start, bogeying on the second and the eighth to bring him to par.
However, he then managed an impressive 10-foot birdie foot on the tenth before mounting an impressive finish, birdying on both the 16th and the 18th to re-establish his dominance.
Commenting on his game in Texas, the world number ten said: "I feel like I'm a world class player out there but there are a host of world class players just behind me.
"I don't expect the rest of those guys to lay down for me. I'm usually a good player playing from the front but I've let it slip as well.
"I think I've got something to prove tomorrow."
Just behind Scott on the leaderboard are the Americans Kevin Sutherland, Bart Bryant, who are both on 67, and Charley Hoffman and Ryan Moore, who went round in 68.
Sutherland in particular will be keen to get back in contention after letting slip the lead he set up with three early birdies and an eagle, while Sergio Garcia posted a consistent 65.
