Villegas climbs to seventh after second Tour win
29/09/2008
Colombia's Camilo Villegas has jumped ten places to seventh in the latest golf world rankings following his victory at the Tour Championship over the weekend.
The South American beat Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win the event after overturning the Spaniard's three-shot overnight lead.
It is the second consecutive tournament victory for Villegas on the PGA Tour, following his maiden win at the BMW Championship three weeks ago.
Anthony Kim, who finished in a tie for third alongside world number two Phil Mickelson, also saw his world ranking boosted as he climbed four spots to sixth.
Kim has enjoyed a superb recent run of form, as he played a major part in the United States' first Ryder Cup win over Europe this century at Valhalla a week ago.
Vijay Singh, who was confirmed as the FedEx Cup champion this week, remains third in the rankings with Padraig Harrington fourth and Garcia fifth.
Despite being out for the season after knee surgery, world number one Tiger Woods maintains his clear lead at the top of the standings.
