Deadly suicide bomb at Pakistani tribal meeting
10/10/2008
A suicide bomber has struck a Pakistani tribal council meeting to discuss ways to evict the Taliban.
At least 15 people are said to have been killed in the blast in Orakzai district, which does not share a border with Afghanistan.
Up to 50 people were wounded in the attack, the Reuters news agency claimed.
"We were busy in raising a lashkar [tribal militia] to evict Taliban from the region when this attack took place," tribal elder Qeemat Khan Orakzai said.
