'Missing man's wedding ring' found inside crocodile
13/10/2008
An object thought to be a wedding ring has been found inside an Australian crocodile suspected of killing Scottish man Arthur Booker.
Three crocodiles were captured last week as part of the search for the 62-year-old.
Mr Booker is thought to have been snatched by a crocodile in north-east Australia while on a camping trip with his wife Doris near the Endeavour river, in north Queensland.
Reports suggest that X-rays of the captured crocodiles showed a 'wedding ring' inside one of the animals, though this has been denied by Queensland police.
"A circular shaped object X-rayed inside one of the crocodiles captured from the Endeavour River cannot be verified as being a wedding band, as reported by some media outlets," a police spokesman said.
"Material was found inside two of the crocodiles trapped last week and media will be advised of the results of forensic and further testing when completed and confirmed."
Mr Booker is reported to have last been seen heading to the river to check crab pots.
Police later found his camera on the bank along with skid marks and a rope that had been holding a crab pot.
