Pete Doherty rocks Academy 1
28/02/2006
Shambolic rocker Pete Doherty graced the Manchester Academy 1 this weekend with his usual late entrance and disjointed performance much to the delight of his idolising fans.
The Babyshambles gig on Sunday was a typical Doherty performance inciting the crowd by turning up an hour late then converting them in an instant with an energetic and rambling set.
Babyshambles classics Killamangiro and F**K Forever were belted out along with the others as Doherty stumbled through bouncers and words on stage.
Babyshambles were eventually escorted off the stage by the bouncers, before their support act the Deadbeats played their own set.
Doherty then returned for a solo performance, revealing his undoubted but often hidden talent with a combination of Babyshambles and Libertines songs.
The show in Manchester was originally cancelled due to Doherty's imprisonment after drug related arrests earlier this year.
But it seems the singer is still having troubles coping with life as he was again arrested today this time on suspicion of stealing a car and possessing class A drugs.
