Take That to reform?
27/09/2005
Armies of screaming twenty-something women could descend on Manchester, if rumours suggesting 1990s boyband Take That could reform and return to the city for a promotional tour are true.
The group, who split up in 1996, were the most successful British band since the Beatles and dominated the music charts in the first half of the 90s.
However, according to the Daily Star, the Manchester pop group are planning to reform to celebrate their ten-year anniversary and could return to Manchester for a "grand finale gig".
The Daily Star reports that all five original members of the group have got involved, including Robbie Williams who quit the band in 1995 to pursue a highly successful solo career.
Other members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen are rumoured to be releasing their new 'Best of
' album in November and the lads will be appearing on TV and radio shows up and down the country.
"They may even sing a few bars of old hits," said an industry insider.
Robbie Williams "hasn't said no yet", and may join the group if former manager Nigel Martin Smith is not involved, says the insider.
