"Upwardly-mobile" apartments on sale in Northern Quarter
29/05/2008
A new luxury development in the Northern Quarter has been described as one of the "most upwardly-mobile" buildings in Manchester.
Known as the Light House, the £32million development was once three commercial buildings but now comprises 169 apartments.
The Light House, which is behind Debenhams, boasts nine penthouses that are priced between £370,000 and £775,000, reports the Telegraph.
Clive Lynton, a director at Stonehurst, the developer responsible for the Light House, told the paper: "We don't have buyers saying they can get the same thing down the road 20 per cent cheaper - there is nothing else like this. People will pay a bit more for that.
"I believe we have the right product and it will sell. But if it doesn't, we will keep it as an investment and it will be occupied eventually."
The penthouses range from 1,065 sq ft with two double bedrooms to 1,356 sq ft with three bedrooms.
One parking space per apartment is provided, along with individual secure storage rooms.
