Muse head to Italy to continue work on album five
26/08/2008
A fifth album from Devon rock trio Muse could be on the way soon, drummer Dom Howard has revealed.
Speaking in May after drumming for Razorlight guitarist Andy Burrows, Howard revealed that writing sessions had begun on a follow-up to 2006's Black holes and Revelations.
And while talking to BBC 6Music at the Reading festival, Howard confirmed that the band's fifth album was even closer to completion, as they had written tracks ahead of their headline slots at the V festival.
"We're working on new stuff and we're gonna have a couple of weeks off and then in about two weeks time we're back out to Italy to start writing again," he continued.
"We've already done a few tracks and it sounds great, so we're just working towards the future."
Howard also paid tribute to Reading and Leeds headliners Rage Against the Machine, who inspired a moshpit stretching back to the mixing desk during their performance in Berkshire.
"The music they make is so from the heart, so passionate and really, they almost started a genre of music," Howard commented.
