Blair to appear on Daily Show
17/09/2008
Former prime minister Tony Blair is to appear on the US satirical TV programme, the Daily Show with John Stewart.
Mr Blair's appearance on the popular late-night show is due to be aired on Thursday and comes a day before he starts his teaching course on 'faith and globalisation' at Yale University.
A spokesman for Mr Blair said: "The Daily Show have been asking Tony Blair to appear for some time."
The 55-year-old will join the likes of former United States presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter as one of six former or currents heads of state to be interviewed by Stewart on the show.
Yale's president Richard Levin has said the university was "honoured" to have Mr Blair joining its teaching staff this week.
"The appointment of Mr Blair provides a tremendous opportunity for our students and our community," he said.
"As the world continues to become increasingly inter-dependent, it is essential that we explore how religious values can be channelled toward reconciliation rather than polarisation."
