Longoria piling on the pounds for Desperate Housewives

Eva Longoria has said she is piling on the pounds to prepare for her role in next season's Desperate Housewives.

The Sentinel star was seen in a flashforward in last season's finale looking much larger than her usual svelte figure, with two children around her.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about her preparation for the role, she said: "I ate everything in sight - Pasta pappardelle and pizza. Oh, Tony [Longoria's husband] and I went crazy this summer."

Longoria, who plays the fashionable high-maintenance Gabrielle on the popular show, also said she would be sporting butt, thigh and stomach pads to pull off the look of a mother with two children.

The actress, who married basketball start Tony Parker last year, also revealed that her spouse was helping her maintain her famous good looks.

Speaking about her new bob, she told Entertainment Tonight: "I had to cut my hair for the show because Gabrielle has short hair. I wore a wig in the last episode, but I didn't want to wear a wig this whole season, so I was like, 'I'm going to cut it.'"

However, her hairstylist was reluctant to start the cut and urged her husband to start crafting the new look.

"He said, 'Tony, you're going to do the first cut, so she can't be mad at me. Tony did the first snip. He did more and then he did more and then Kenny cleaned it up," she added.
