Ramsay crash while herding buffalo

12/06/2007

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has crashed a 4x4 vehicle while herding buffalo on a farm in Scotland.

Ramsay was not injured in the collision as he tried to round up the animals to make Scottish buffalo mozzarella.

As the chef and the farmer Steven Mitchell drove off into the fields in Fife the two collided.

The whole scene was being filmed for the chef's hit Channel 4 TV show the F-Word, but the crash won't be shown on the episode in question.

A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: "They went charging around in two 4x4s and there was a point at which they met.

"Gordon was not hurt and the 4x4 was not too badly damaged."

The F-Word features Ramsay preparing food with two trainee chefs while chatting with visiting celebrities.

It also features small featurettes from Ramsay's week and recently caused controversy when horse meat was cooked on the show.

Animal rights groups responded with disdain to the move and members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) group dumped a ton of horse manure on the steps of Ramsay's Claridge's restaurant.
