Aspinwall signs new Huddersfield deal
05/07/2007
Martin Aspinwall has signed a new three-year contract to stay at Huddersfield Giants till 2010.
The Great Britain winger is fit again having missed the start of the season due to a groin operation and coach Jon Sharp is more than pleased to be able to keep hold of the player.
"It's fantastic we've been able to hold on to one of the best wingers in the game," said Sharp.
"I'm proud to have got him on board for the next three years.
"I don't think there's any doubt we missed him at the beginning of the season when his groin injury kept him out for longer than we would have wished."
The 25-year-old joined from Wigan in 2005 and is hoping for big things in the coming seasons.
"I've loved every minute here and I hope I can continue to say that until the end of 2010," said Aspinwall.
"That's something I'm sure will be achieved if we can start to fulfil our goals, starting by getting into the play-offs for the first time this season."
Huddersfield are currently seventh in Super League, 13 points behind leaders St Helens.
