Bradford Bull-doze through Salford
11/03/2007
Super League leaders Bradford rammed in ten tries to thump Salford 56-18 at the Grattan Stadium.
The 2005 champions stormed to victory thanks to a hat-trick of tries from Michael Platt while Shontayne Hape and Chris McKenna both bagged a brace.
David Solomana, Ian Henderson and Marcus St Hilaire sealed the rout for the rampant Bulls.
The visitors scored three tries through Andy Coley, Luke Dorn and a penalty try.
Bulls coach Steve McNamara said he was pleased his side had bounced back from last week's loss to reigning champions St Helens.
"It's been a trait of Bradford sides in the past that when they've been hurt they respond well, and that's what happened after last week's result at St Helens," McNamara said.
"Defensively we worked very hard and did a lot of good work. Salford have caught us on a hot day, but they'll come back."
Bulls lead the table by virtue of points scored from Wakefield and Hull KR after five matches.
Elsewhere, the Wildcats beat Catalan 40-20 at Belle Vue to clinch their fourth win in a row.
The hosts rammed in seven tries with a brace from Jason Demetriou while Semi Tadulala, Ben Jeffries, Matthew Blaymire, Neil Fox and Jamie Rooney also crossing the line.
Star man Rooney added to his try with six goals to continue his impressive season. The Dragons scored three tries through Jason Croker and a double from Justin Murphy.
At the Galpharm Stadium Huddersfield suffered a 12-16 defeat to Hull FC.
The visitors sealed victory after scoring three tries through Shaun Briscoe, Matt Sing, and Paul King while Danny Tickle kicked two penalties.
Last year's runners-up move to tenth place with their first win of the season while the Giants remain rock-bottom and are the only side still on zero points.
