Bulls forward Kopczak signs new two-year deal

05/08/2008

Bradford Bulls prop forward Craig Kopczak has agreed terms on a new two-year contract to remain with the club until at least the end of the 2010 season.

The 21-year-old scholarship graduate, who has broken into the first team this season after a series of impressive showings in training and in his time with the academy, has made 12 Super League appearances this season.

And he said he is "over the moon" at signing a new deal at the Grattan Stadium, following his stint on loan at Halifax earlier this season.

"It was up in the air last year but I just needed to get my head around things, knuckle down and get on with it," he said.

"Physically I've come on leaps, I've put in all the hard work, come back from Halifax and have been rewarded for that with this contract.

"I've gained a lot more experience these last few months and started a game for the first time at St Helens. That gave me a lot of confidence.

"I definitely feel better as a Super League player now and it's brilliant to now get another deal."

Bulls head coach Steve McNamara said renewing the contract of Welsh international Kopczak is "great news for the club".

"Craig's a local Bradford lad who's really developed physically, has got very good skills and, in particularly over these last six months, really come on massively," McNamara explained.

"He's turning into a big, powerful boy now and it's great that he's decided to stay with us here at the Bulls for another two years."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18716940-ADNFCR
