Bulls romp to victory

27/05/2007

A hat-trick of tries from Lesley Vainikolo helped Bradford storm to a 44-18 win over Harlequins at the Grattan Stadium in Super League.

The winger, who will be leaving at the end of the season, scored three stunning tries as the Bulls touched down eight times.

Joe Vagana, Paul Deacon, Glenn Morrison, Ian Henderson, and Richie Hawkyard also crossed the line for the hosts.

Quins, who trailed 22-0 at the break, scored second-half tries through John Wells, Chad Randall and Paul Sykes.

The result sees the Bulls remain in third spot level with second-placed St Helens, who have a game in hand, while Quins stay in sixth.

Elsewhere, Leeds edged out Hull Kingston Rovers 18-10 at Craven Park.
The Rhinos, who led 6-4 at the break, scored three tries through Kevin McGuire, Clinton Toopi and Jordan Tansey while Kevin Sinfield continued his devastating form with three goals.

Jason Netherton scored Hull KR's only try while stand-off Paul Cooke, who made the controversial move from rivals Hull, kicked three goals.

The win sees the Rhinos remain at the top of Super League after 15 matches, two points clear of St Helens and Bradford.

Wakefield scored three tries to beat Catalan Dragons 18-12 at Belle Vue.
The Wildcats, who led 10-6 at the break, rammed in three tries through Jason Demetriou, Waine Pryce, and Jamie Rooney.

Wakefield move up to ninth place, level on 13 points with Catalan and Hull.
