Bulls slay Dragons

Bradford fired a warning to their playoff rivals with a 40-8 win over Catalan Dragons at the Grattan Stadium in Super League.

The Bulls, who led 12-8 at the break, scored seven tries through Terry Newton, Glenn Morrison, David Solomona, Nathan McAvoy, Dave Halley, Joe Vagana and Ben Harris, who also kicked five goals.

Catalan scored their solitary try through Adel Fellous while skipper Stacey Jones kicked two goals.

The result means the Bulls close the gap on second-placed Leeds to two points while the Dragons stay in tenth place.

Elsewhere, Wigan beat Hull KR 40-24 at a try-fest at Craven Park.

The Warriors rammed in seven tries thanks to a brace from Liam Colbon while Darrell Goulding, David Vaealiki, Paul Prescott, Thomas Leuluai and Mark Calderwood also crossed the line.

Pat Richards continued his devastating form with five goals.

Hull KR scored five tries through Scott Murrell, Andreas Bauer, Iain Morrison, Kris Welham and Rhys Lovegrove while Mark Lennon kicked two goals.

The result moves the Warriors into the final playoff place in sixth while Hull KR remain in 11th spot.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield came from behind to defeat Wakefield 24-22 at the Galpharm Stadium.

The Giants, who trailed 12-20 at the break, cement fifth place thanks to a brace from Jamahl Lolesi and four goals from star man Cliff Thorman.ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18273131-ADNFCR
