Castleford's Thackeray loan move called off
06/05/2008
Castleford Tiger's half-back Anthony Thackeray will not be sent out on loan, the club has announced.
The player had been given the OK to speak to Halifax last week but a move failed to materialise.
A statement from the club said that Thackeray had not been playing much rugby in the previous weeks and "a month's loan would have given him the opportunity for some game time, especially as there were no reserve games in the first half of the month".
Castleford said that while the loan move fell through, Thackeray remains an integral part of the squad.
Thackeray joined the Tigers from Hull FC in 2007.
Castleford are currently bottom of the Engage Super League.
