Feather 'to miss rest of season'
14/05/2007
Bradford Bulls prop Chris Feather is likely to miss the rest of the season with a broken ankle.
The forward suffered the injury during the Bulls' 14-4 Challenge Cup victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Sunday and X-rays confirmed a fracture to the joint which will keep him on the sidelines for several months.
The injury is also complicated by the fact that his ankle became dislocated during the incident, which occurred in the early minutes of the second half of the fifth-round tie at Belle Vue.
It is a similar injury to that suffered by team-mate Andy Lynch, also a prop forward, last September.
Lynch was out of action for five months and a similar length of time in the physio room for Feather will mean he will be absent for the remainder of the 2007 season.
Bradford are currently third in the Super League after 13 games of the season and so far look in good shape to make the six-team play-offs.
This is despite suffering a heart-breaking 42-38 defeat to bitter rivals Leeds Rhinos, a former club of Feather's, at Millennium Magic just over a week ago – a result shrouded in controversy after match referee Steve Ganson awarded the winning try when the scorer, Jordan Tansey, was offside.
