Giants capture Lolesi
21/09/2006
Super League outfit Huddersfield Giants have snapped up New Zealand centre Jamaal Lolesi from West Tigers.
The 25-year-old joins on a two-year deal and Giants head coach Jon Sharp explained that he expects the utility player to be an "excellent signing" for the club.
"He is a player that has made a big impression in the NRL and I expect him to have a similar impact in Super League.
"Jamaal is a very powerful player who can also play wing and back row as well as centre I am looking forward to working with him," he added.
The player himself expressed his excitement at fulfilling an ambition to move to an English club, an opportunity that he described as "too good to miss".
I could have stayed at Wests for another year, but I was keen to play in England while I was still young and had a lot to offer. So when I knew there was an opportunity to join a club like the Giants I jumped at the chance," Lolesi said.
