Giants extend winning streak

Huddersfield continued their recent revival with a 46-16 thumping over Harlequins at the Galpharm Stadium in the Super League.

The Giants, who led 20-10 at the break, clinched their fourth straight win thanks to two tries apiece from Steve Snitch and Paul Reilly.

Jamahl Lolesi, Chris Nero, Stephen Wild and Chris Thorman also crossed the line while Chris Thorman kicked seven goals.

Harlequins led 10-6 after half an hour with tries Chad Randall and Tyrone Smith while Jon Grayshon touched down in the second half.

The result sees Huddersfield climb to tenth spot while Harlequins remain in seventh place after 11 games.

Elsewhere, rock-bottom Salford edged out Hull KR for a crucial 28-24 at Craven Park.

The Reds made an explosive start with three tries in the opening seven minutes through John Wilshere, Luke Dorn and Aaron Moule.

Justin Morgan's side hit back with three tries from Jim Gannon, Mark O'Neill and debutant Mark Lennon.

But Salford went into the break 16-10 ahead after Luke Robinson crossed the line in the closing stages.

Jon Goddard touched at the start of the second half to set-up a grandstand finish but David Hodgson responded for the Reds with Hull's Andreas Bauer crossing over in the dying minutes.

The result sees Salford close the gap on 11th placed Hull KR to just one point after their third win of the season.
