Great Britain set out stall for NZ Test

14/06/2006

Three players could make their Great Britain debuts in the rugby league Test with New Zealand later this month.

Team coach Brian Noble named his 20-man squad this morning and included Bradford's Jamie Langley and St Helens duo Ade Gardner and James Graham.

There are 12 players from last year's tri-nations series in Noble's squad and Paul Sculthorpe returns from injury to captain the side.

Great Britain will have to do without Brian Carney, who plays his rugby in New Zealand, after the Newcastle Knights refused to release him.

Meanwhile, Adrian Morley, an overseas-based player who will be linking up with the squad, has confirmed that he will be joining Warrington Wolves next season.

"I've decided to join Warrington because the club is really moving in the right direction; everything is first class. I want to win a championship and I see Warrington at the place to do it," the 29-year-old said.

The one-off Test match between New Zealand and Great Britain takes place on June 27th.
