Halley agrees contract extension with Bradford
23/05/2008
Winger Dave Halley has agreed a contract extension to keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2009 Super League season.
Halley, 21, joined the club in November 2002 from amateur side Dudley Hill and has established himself as a first-team regular, as well as winning international honours with Wales.
And as a Bradford native, Halley said he is delighted to have agreed terms to remain at Odsal for at least another 18 months.
"This is the only club I want to be at. Bradford is where I'm improving year after year and it's the coaching staff here that is the reason for that," said Halley, who has scored nine tries in his 20 appearances for the club at full-back and wing.
"As much as the Bulls are a big club, I need to keep developing and they can help me do that.
"With brilliant players like Paul Deacon and Glenn Morrison around as well, it really helps and I'm delighted to be staying. I'm a Bradford lad and I'm glad to get it sorted."
Bulls coach Steve McNamara added: "We're delighted Daves re-signed. He's progressing and turning into a valuable member of the squad and I'm really pleased he's around for another year.
"Dave's whole attitude is excellent and his game is really developing while he's a pleasure to have around.
"He's a local lad from Bradford which is important too and it's great news."
