Hooker Moore to see out Tigers stay on sidelines
20/08/2008
Castleford Tigers hooker Scott Moore has been handed a two-match ban for an illegal strike last week, which rules him out for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old has also been fined £300 by the Rugby Football League (RFL) disciplinary committee for his use of the forearm on Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield during the Tigers' 54-12 defeat at Headingley.
Moore, who will now be forced to sit out the final two matches of the campaign against Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls, is on loan at the Jungle from St Helens.
However, he will depart at the end of the season before joining Huddersfield Giants on a similar deal in 2009.
Meanwhile Catalans Dragons second rower Jamal Fakir has been handed a one-match ban and a £300 fine after being found guilty of a reckless high tackle during his sides 22-20 win at Huddersfield.
But Wigan Warriors full-back Richard Mathers has been cleared to continue playing after the RFL committee decided not to suspend him for a strike with his forearm during the 32-22 win over Wakefield Wildcats.
Mathers is now free to face his former club Leeds on Friday.
