Huddersfield's Paul out for a month
12/04/2007
Huddersfield Giants star Robbie Paul has been ruled out for up to a month with a broken hand.
The former Bradford Bulls captain will miss Huddersfield's key matches against fourth-placed Wigan Warriors on Sunday and further fixtures against Harlequins, Hull K R and Wakefield Wildcats.
Paul will also face a race against time to be fit for the Giants' match against his old club on Friday May 18th.
Huddersfield have struggled so far this season and are currently propping up the rest of the engage Super League after the opening nine rounds of matches.
However, the last two weeks have seen a mini-resurgence from the West Yorkshire club with two consecutive victories to kick-start their 2007 campaign.
The New Zealand scrum-half was injured in the 56-12 victory over Wakefield at the Galpharm Stadium, which forced him out of the following match against Warrington.
"Losing Robbie is a big blow to us and for himself. He has returned to form just as we started winning," said Huddersfield head coach Jon Sharp.
"We went to Warrington without him and won – it is a big loss for us but it's an opportunity for someone else to come up to the plate."
