Hull KR capture Mills
20/09/2007
Super League side Hull KR have signed Welsh international prop David Mills from Harlequins on a 12-month contract for the 2008 season.
The 26-year-old joins the Robins after two years in London, where he made 50 appearances after joining from his home-town club Widnes Vikings.
Mills becomes Rovers' seventh recruit ahead of next season their second year in the top division since winning promotion to the Super League in 2006 joining Daniel Fitzhenry, Ben Galea, Chev Walker, Peter Fox, Shaun Briscoe and Jake Webster on the roster.
On the signing of 6ft 5in Mills, one of the tallest props in the game, Hull KR coach Justin Morgan said: "His work ethic is second to none and he plays the game hard.
"He will add strength and aggression to our pack which will make him a threat."
Rovers have also signed 18-year-old prop Luke Menzies from National League One side Batley on a one-year deal.
"Luke is a youngster with a huge amount of potential and has a burning desire to succeed in the game," Morgan continued.
"He's passionate about his footy and will give the forwards a touch of youth. It's great to be in a position to be giving a player of Luke's abilities the chance to join a Super League squad."
The two new signings come soon after Rovers announced they would be releasing as many as 12 players from their squad ahead of next season, including six members of their promotion-winning squad.
