Hull KR land Super League leaders
06/06/2006
Hull Kingston Rovers have been rewarded for their stunning run in the Powergen Challenge Cup this season with a plum semi-final tie against Super League leaders St Helens.
Justin Morgan's team became the first from the National League One to reach the last four of the tournament in a decade on Sunday night.
Cook Islands winger Byron Ford grabbed a hat-trick of tries to help them to a 40-36 shock victory over Warrington at Craven Park.
And now Hull KR will go up against the best team in the country for a dream place in the final and Morgan insists the players can hardly wait.
"What a great game to have," he said. "We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be tough but we will be going there are underdogs and to enjoy ourselves.
"The boys want to measure themselves against the best, well I guess they don't get much better than Sean Long, Jamie Lyons, Paul Wellens, Paul Sculthorpe, Keiron Cunningham and co."
The club's chief executive Paul Lakin added: "I am very excited. We will certainly be the underdogs but for the boys it will be a chance to take on the very best in the game."
Meanwhile, the other semi-final draw sees Leeds take on Huddersfield.
