Hull complete Head signing
26/06/2007
Super League side Hull FC have confirmed the imminent arrival of Australian half-back Michael Head for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old will join up with his new team-mates at the KC Stadium tomorrow and head coach Peter Sharp is hopeful that the player will take the field for his new club on Sunday against Salford City Reds.
"He has every chance of playing at the weekend," Sharp confirmed.
"I am very excited about Matthew joining us because I believe he will provide the team with that x-factor, which we are currently missing."
Hull are currently on the verge of the play-off places in eighth, one point behind sixth-placed Huddersfield who occupy the final berth in the post-season tournament.
And Sharp is hopeful that Head's experience and skills will boost the team as a whole.
"Matthew is a very clever player and will provide us with a lot of direction and lead us around the park," he continued.
"He's a good organiser as well and also has a great kicking game.
"He has a lot of experience and skill and I am sure our youngsters will learn a lot from him."
Head added that he is "excited" to be joining Hull, who he described as a "top club
in the Super League".
"I have always wanted to come over and play in England and now I have got the opportunity," he added.
