Hull go third in league
28/05/2006
Hull moved into third in the Super League after a 19-6 win over Huddersfield secured their seventh league win in a row.
Hull leapfrogged Bradford after the latest in their impressive run, which has included recent wins over the Bulls and Leeds.
Just four tries were scored, with Hull taking the lead through Paul Cooke's fifth-minute penalty.
Prop Keith Mason's converted try gave the Giants a 6-2 lead, but Sid Domic's converted score gave Hull a narrow half-time advantage.
They pulled away after the break with tries from Nathan Blacklock and Richard Horne.
Horne increased the lead with a drop goal.
In the day's other game, Warrington kept up their challenge for a play-off spot with a 46-28 win over Castleford.
Although Michael Shenton gave the Tigers an early lead, the Wolves quickly replied through Henry Fa'afili.
They maintained the pressure with four more tries in the half to leave them in a strong position before the visitors threatened a second-half comeback.
But they were unable to keep out the Wolves, with Brent Grose going on to score the second of his two tries.
