Leeds blow away Hull
07/04/2006
Leeds Rhinos blew away Hull in the second half to win 34-26 in a hotly-contested match at the KC Stadium.
Hull led 20-12 at the break after tries from Gareth Raynor (2), Kirk Yeman and Sid Domic, with Danny McGuire crossing twice for Leeds.
But the Rhinos turned it on in the second half, with tries from Willie Poching, Chev Walker, Shane Millard and Ali Lauitiiti wrapping things up.
Hull scored just once in the second period, through Richard Horne, and were no match for the Super League's second-placed team.
Wakefield condemned Wigan to yet more misery with a 40-14 win in the battle of the Super League's bottom clubs.
The home side stormed to a 32-6 lead at half-time and Wigan could not recover in an evenly-matched second period.
Wigan, one of the rugby league's greatest clubs, are now alone on two points after just one win in eight games, while Wakefield jumped from 11th to ninth in the table.
Harlequins are just above Wigan in second bottom after losing 16-6 to leaders St Helens, who have now won their first eight games of the season.
Elsewhere, high-flying Salford beat Huddersfield 36-18 to go third in the table after many had tipped them to be relegated before the start of the season.
