Noone joins McDermott's Quins
13/07/2006
Brian McDermott has made Warrington's back-row player Paul Noone the first signing of his reign as head coach at the Twickenham Stoop.
The 25-year-old joins Harlequins on loan until the end of the season and McDermott will be hoping that Noone can inspire Quins to push up the Super League table.
Noone joins up with his new colleagues early next week and is targeting the July 22nd clash with Hull as a possible debut date.
By making the switch south Noone ends a ten-year association with Wolves as he looks to kickstart his career.
He made 119 appearances for Warrington during his time at the club, but has recently been squeezed out of the first team as injuries have taken their toll.
Brain McDermott was upbeat after his first foray into the market: "Paul Noone is going to come down on Monday to start training with us. He will bolster the squad."
Appointed at the weekend, McDermott has been handed the task of steering the club to safety from their present position just three points from bottom. He was previously assistant coach at high-flying Leeds Rhinos.
