Platt signs three-year deal with Bradford Bulls

10/05/2008

Bradford Bulls full-back Michael Platt will remain with the club for a further three years after signing a contract extension.

The 24-year-old signed from Castleford two years ago and has since gone on to play in the Northern Union game against New Zealand last season.

Having made himself a fixture of the Bulls back line Platt said he looked forward to continued success with the club.

Platt has scored 15 tries in 34 appearances since joining the club, although 14 of those came in his first 13 games for the Bulls.

The full-back believes his career will only be enhanced by staying with the Bulls.

He said: "I'm delighted to be staying at Bradford for another three years and I think I've improved while I've been here. I've still got a lot to do but the club has shown a lot of faith in me by giving me a deal that long.

"When I signed here I knew I was coming to one of the top clubs and that's where all players want to do their stuff."

Bulls coach Steve McNamara was delighted to have Platt at the club for the foreseeable future and believes he has a bright future.

He said: "I am very pleased with the progress he has made since he joined us.

"He is an outstanding athlete and is developing into a very good full-back. For me he has all the attributes and if he continues to learn and improve, he can go a long, long way in the game."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18587972-ADNFCR
