Pryce back in league with Wigan

18/12/2007

Former Bradford Bulls centre Karl Pryce has completed his switch back from rugby union to league after signing for Wigan Warriors for 2008.

Pryce, 21, joins Warriors from rugby union side Gloucester after a relatively unsuccessful attempt to switch codes last year.

He scored 138 points in 52 appearances for Bradford and was also called up for Great Britain before deciding to make the switch in 2007.

However, Pryce has chosen to return to Super League and said the move was made easier by the fact that he is a boyhood Warriors fan.

"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join the Wigan Warriors and work again with [head coach] Brian Noble," he told the club's official website.

"When I learned of their interest in me it was an easy decision to make. They have some quality players and I am really looking forward to being part of the club at this exciting time."

Noble, who coached Pryce in his time at Odsal, described the youngster as "a really exciting prospect".

"He is a player who I saw progress through the ranks at Bradford Bulls," he said.

"He played a huge part in the club's academy success in 2004 and then made an impact in the first team.

"He has the attributes of both pace and power, he knows where the try line is and can play a number of positions in the back line."

Pryce becomes Wigan's fourth signing of the winter break, alongside Andy Coley, George Carmont and Richie Mathers, and he will join the squad ahead of the upcoming pre-season training schedule.ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18399105-ADNFCR
