Radlinski returns for Warriors
12/06/2006
Kris Radlinski is to come out of retirement to help save Super League strugglers Wigan Warriors.
The 30-year-old former Great Britain full-back has not played since September having struggled with a persistent knee injury.
He officially announced his retirement on the eve of the 2006 season but has now decided to return.
"I have been talking to coach Brian Noble and chairman Maurice Lindsay about this for a couple of weeks now, and last night decided to do it," he told the Wigan Evening Post.
"Basically I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something bad happened to Wigan after all the club has given me and done for me in the past.
"I have been watching all the games and I have seen them struggle. I think they need a bit of confidence and some more experience, and hopefully I will be able to give the side a bit more of both."
Wigan are currently languishing in last place in the league with just two wins and four points from 16 games. The once-great rugby league outfit are six points behind 11th placed Catalans Dragons.
